The Livestock Conservancy has primarily worked towards preserving breeds of livestock, poultry and swine, until it became evident that equine breeds were also suffering similar results as the previously mentioned livestock. It was evident that equine breeds needed to become a priority as well due to the impact that they made to society prior to the invention of work equipment and vehicles. The Endangered Equine Alliance was a creation of the Livestock Conservancy to specifically focus on equine breeds as of 2017.
